IDS Imaging Development Systems
Dr. Michael Berger succeeds Jürgen Hartmann
With the departure of company founder and owner Jürgen Hartmann, industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems is reorganizing its management.
On January 1, Jürgen Hartman, founder and owner of the industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems, handed over the operational management of the company to Dr. Michael Berger after 27 years. However, Hartmann will continue to support the company as Chief Innovation Manager in an advisory capacity in the areas of technology and innovation. He will also remain a managing partner of Hartmann Holding GmbH. In future, the 42-year-old Berger will be responsible for the Sales, Marketing, Product Management and System Consulting divisions. Jan Hartmann will now be in charge of Finance, HR, IT and Business Innovation & Ecosystem; Alexander Lewinsky will take over Development in addition to his previous area of responsibility, Operations.
Berger studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth and completed his doctorate in sales and market management at the University of Constance. Most recently, he worked for Varta as General Manager Li-Ion Cells.
The 61-year-old Hartmann had been planning the management and generational change for some time. The first steps were the promotion of his son Jan Hartmann to the management board and the appointment of Alexander Lewinsky in 2021.
Since its foundation in 1997 as a two-man company, IDS has developed into an ISO and environmentally certified family business with around 350 employees. The headquarters in Obersulm, Baden-Württemberg, is both a development and production site. The company is represented internationally with subsidiaries and representative offices in the USA, Japan, South Korea, the UK, France and the Netherlands.
