The low-cost 3D camera with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels provides 2D and 3D data simultaneously in one image, so that height and gray value information can be evaluated in parallel. The camera system is supplied complete with optics and lighting, calibrated to an accuracy of approximately ±1 cm. This makes it suitable for applications in logistics, robotics, biometrics and factory automation as well as for autonomous vehicles. With three software development toolkits for image processing from Matrox, there are tools for solving various image processing tasks: OEMs and system integrators receive graphical development tools for rapid application development as well as image processing libraries for integration into their own software projects.
