New Automation Management Board strengthened
New Automation, the training association for industrial companies in the field of automation technology, has expanded its board and set up new projects for young talent.
The "New Automation e.V." association has strengthened its board of directors. At the most recent general meeting in Gerlingen near Stuttgart, company representatives from Phoenix Contact, Weidmüller, Bürkert and ITQ, among others, as well as the ZVEI elected practical educational expertise to the new board. Thomas Sattelberger was confirmed as Chairman of the Board.
With the New Automation Education Association, Sattelberger would also like to address general education schools in the future and strengthen schools as a place of learning. "The common goal is to make young people fit for a career in the IT and automation industry, as well as in mechanical engineering and technical trades, in everyday school life and in training".
In addition, the association will use its presence at events such as the Hannover Messe or SPS Nuremberg to present the results of the cooperation between industry and education partners to national and international trade audiences. One example is the current "lighthouse project", a digital twin developed and implemented by vocational students and teachers from the David-Roentgen-Schule in Neuwied with the support of members of New Automation.
The new concept also includes a "New Automation Challenge", which is intended to motivate educational partners to design and implement IT, mechatronics and automation projects in conjunction with events such as Makeathons. The association also wants to pay more attention to inspiring young women for future professions. Here, as in its other work, the aim is to better network the local activities of member companies and to intensify cooperation with other initiatives and networks such as WorldSkills Germany and Make&Mint.
