AMI at the Fachpack 2024
Conveyor technology in the picking and packing process
Complex intralogistics processes become a challenge when not only the pure conveying of parcels, packages, unit loads or load carriers has to be ensured, but also picking, sealing and packing have to be integrated into the process.
"Even if a parcel is only to run through one conveyor line, there are a number of parameters to consider when it comes to packaging," says Olaf Zurheide - Managing Director Sales at AMI - explaining the inseparable combination of intralogistics and the materials to be conveyed.
The aim is to protect the goods ideally during transportation, increase the conveying speed using standard packaging and optimally adjust the throughput by adapting the packing densities. To this end, the company has a wide variety of components in its exhibition baggage, which will be assembled in Nuremberg to form a complete - small - conveyor line that demonstrates the many possibilities during operation. Another standard feature is the robotics that AMI can implant for automation, because stacking, transferring or palletizing is necessary depending on the requirements. AMI supplies its own lidding systems or seamlessly docks onto the customer's existing packaging technology.
Enterprise resource planning program for the entire intralogistics process
In many projects, the AMI software package WLS (Warehouse Logistics Software) is also used, which serves as an internal merchandise management program for the entire intralogistics and interacts with the customer's higher-level ERP program via the appropriate interfaces. This results in optimal and optimized material flow processes for almost all packaging units, sizes and weights, even if boxes have to be filled, cartons wrapped or larger containers strapped as part of the goods transport process.
AMI Förder- und Lagertechnik is therefore always a close partner to the various customer groups in almost every industry and ensures the optimum material flow from picking to dispatch at the customer's premises thanks to its own components, its own software and the integration of existing packaging technology. "We have been offering our customers maximum automation compatibility between their existing infrastructure and our individually designed components and corresponding software solutions for the system for years," says Olaf Zurheide about the many flexible options and is looking forward to presenting AMI's performance at Fachpack 2024.
