ABB and Dassault Systèmes agree partnership
ABB has entered into a partnership to combine its 'Ability' digitalization portfolio with the '3DExperience' platform from Dassault Systèmes. The focus is on factory automation and robotics, building automation and the process industry.
Until now, ABB has used Dassault Systèmes ' '3DExperience' platform to model and simulate its solutions before they are delivered. With this partnership, ABB now wants to develop digital twins and make them available to users. In a phased approach, the companies will focus on solutions for factory automation and robotics, process industry automation and electrification for smart buildings. The first joint solutions will be presented at the Hannover Messe from April 1 to 5, 2019.
"Together, we offer an open, end-to-end digital portfolio - from the digital twin to investment security. This gives our customers a competitive advantage based on our combined offering, industry expertise and global reach," says ABB CEO Ulrich Spiesshofer.
Bernard Charlès, Vice Chairman and CEO of Dassault Systèmes adds: "The platform approach allows the real and virtual worlds to inform and reinforce each other. Our partnership with ABB will draw on decades of combined expertise and help customers benefit from this dynamic trend."
