'Hyperloop Pod Competition' 2018Through the vacuum tube at 467 km/h

Traveling at almost the speed of sound with the Hyperloop superfast train - to make this vision a reality, SpaceX founder Elon Musk has launched the 'Hyperloop Pod Competition': the design by the team from the Technical University of Munich won for the third time.

A look inside the test tube: it is located directly in front of the SpaceX building in Los Angeles and is 1.2 km long. It is pressurized to 0.4 bar, a distance along which the teams' pods had to accelerate to full speed and decelerate again. The pod accelerates five times faster than an airplane in the take-off phase. A speed that could make it possible to travel from Munich to Hamburg in 40 minutes.
