Inka Krischke,

Clutches with integrated sensors

In addition to multi-plate clutches, drive shafts and flanges, there is also the bellows clutch from R+W with integrated sensors. The main difference to the previous clutch models is the much more compact design of the 'iBK'.

It offers all the features of the standard clutch from R+W and also functions as a wireless measuring unit. With the help of the integrated sensor technology, parameters such as torque, speed, acceleration and optionally also axial and lateral force are transmitted directly from the rotating drive train to a gateway. From there, the sensor signals can be recorded and processed in downstream measurement control or data processing systems. In addition, the data from the measuring chain can be displayed and saved on mobile end devices in the specially developed app. In addition to a solution with a rechargeable battery or induction, energy is now also supplied autonomously via energy harvesting. Here, the rotational energy is converted into electrical energy by miniaturized energy converters.
