Engineering labor market 2021Full steam ahead back into the skills shortage?
The agonizingly long-lasting coronavirus pandemic has also caused the job market for engineers to freeze in many places, but it has not come to a complete standstill, as a survey of recruiters shows. Will there be a race to catch up?

However, not all companies had imposed a hiring freeze at all. Michael Köhler from Schuh-Eder Consulting reports this.
"We've had virtually no coronavirus-related hiring freezes or even cancellations with our clients so far. The companies have pursued their strategy unwaveringly - also in terms of headcounts. We therefore do not expect any increased recruiting activities."
Irrespective of the pandemic, the consultant continues to register "a high demand for required skills in the areas of power electronics - keyword electromobility - and radio frequency in the area of 5G network expansion".
