Cybersecurity in the industry
Weidmüller cooperates with Fortinet
Weidmüller and Fortinet have agreed a partnership to provide cyber security solutions for OT environments. The aim is to better secure industrial networks against attacks and at the same time meet regulatory requirements such as NIS2 or the Cyber Resilience Act.
Weidmüller has entered into a strategic partnership with Fortinet. Both companies want to develop an integrated solution that simplifies the use of cyber security in industrial networks. The background to this is the growing convergence of IT and OT, which is leading to higher requirements for the protection of production facilities.
"Cybersecurity is a key element for robust and sustainable production environments. In collaboration with Weidmüller, we can go deeper into OT applications and offer our customers secure, scalable and easy-to-implement solutions to protect their equipment," explains Joe Sarno, Executive Vice President International Sales at Fortinet.
Specifically, Fortinet's security software is combined with Weidmüller's hardware. Users should benefit from seamless implementations that are supported by implementation guides and support offerings. Another aspect is compliance with regulatory requirements, including NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act.
With this cooperation, Weidmüller is also joining Fortinet's Open Fabric Ecosystem. This comprises more than 400 partners with around 800 integrations, a large proportion of which specialize in OT and IoT environments.
