Dr. Olaf Munkelt becomes new Chairman
Dr. Olaf Munkelt, co-founder and Managing Director of MVTec Software, is the new Chairman of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association. He succeeds Dr. Dietmar Ley, former CEO of Basler, who stepped down from the board for statutory reasons.
"Our industry is facing far-reaching structural challenges that we will only overcome if we set clear priorities. It is now crucial to work resolutely on our competitiveness, to expand our dialog with politicians at national and European level and to take a leading position in artificial intelligence and its industrial applications. This is exactly what we are focusing our work on in the trade association," says Dr. Olaf Munkelt about his new role.
At the same time, two new members were appointed to the VDMA Robotics + Automation Executive Board to fill existing vacancies: Hardy Mehl, CEO Basler, succeeds Dr. Dietmar Ley. Jürgen Noailles, CEO IEF Werner and member of the Board of VDMA Automated Solutions, succeeds Jörg Kipper (Festo), who retired at the end of the year.
The new Executive Board of VDMA Robotics + Automation is thus composed as follows:
