The winners from Salzburg (Austria) designed a mobile robot system with a gripper to perform dangerous handling tasks from a distance, for example in the skilled trades sector. A glove equipped with sensors is used for this purpose, enabling intuitive control through gestures and with feedback. The engineers developed a drive system, a battery system and a mechanical frame for the cost-effective and maintenance-free robolink D articulated arm from igus.
