Infineon and HTEC
Humanoid robot head with all-round vision
Infineon Technologies and HTEC have presented the jointly developed '360° Awareness Humanoid Robotic Head'. The technology is the result of close cooperation in the fields of embedded engineering, sensor fusion and AI integration.
According to the company, the humanoid robot head represents an important step in the development of more perceptive and responsive machines. It enables robots to understand the world through spatial awareness, depth perception and sound recognition using modern sensor and processing technologies. Key components of the Robotic Head include 'Xensiv 60 GHz' radar sensors for precise spatial perception, 'Real3' time-of-flight (ToF) sensors for depth perception and 'Xensiv' digital MEMS microphones for intelligent audio recognition from Infineon. The interaction of these components enables the robot to detect presences, localize sounds or analyse visual details using integrated cameras.
HTEC played a critical role in embedding these individual technologies into a cohesive system. The company led the design, integration and software implementation, using its embedded engineering and AI expertise to combine radar, ToF and audio data into a centralized control architecture. The result is a solution that demonstrates how such systems can be easily integrated into robotics and automation projects.
