Indus takes over Gestalt Robotics

Indus Holding has acquired Gestalt Robotics, thereby expanding its portfolio in the Engineering segment. Gestalt Robotics primarily has technological expertise in the field of AI-based industrial automation.

With Indus as a new shareholder, Gestalt Robotics can continue its growth trajectory of recent years independently and with operational autonomy. Thomas Staufenbiel and Prof. Dr. Jens Lambrecht, co-founders and managing directors of Gestalt Robotics, will continue to manage the company. Gestalt Robotics develops automation solutions for its customers' individual applications based on AI innovations. The field of expertise extends to AI-based image processing, intelligent robotics, autonomous mobility and adaptive worker assistance systems.

Founded in 1989 and based in Bergisch Gladbach, Indus Holding is a specialist for sustainable corporate development in the German-speaking SME sector. Each year, Indus acquires two to three technology-oriented industrial technology companies in the Engineering, Infrastructure and Materials segments. As an investment company with a focus on defined future topics, the holding company actively supports its 43 operationally independent investments in their entrepreneurial development over the long term.

Gestalt Robotics is a software company that uses AI technology to create intelligent automation. Fields of application include AI-supported image processing (e.g. for visual quality inspection or visual asset tracking), autonomous navigation for mobile robots and transport systems, adaptive and collaborative robotics and assistance systems. Gestalt Robotics was founded in 2016 by Thomas Staufenbiel, Prof. Dr. Jens Lambrecht and Dr. Eugen Funk. The company is based in Berlin with a team of around 50 employees.
