The 'World Robotics 2019' report analyzes the market for collaborative industrial robots (cobots) for the first time. Despite the very strong media attention for these robots, the number of installed units is still very low with a share of just 3.2 %. In 2018, less than 14,000 of more than 422,000 industrial robots were installed. In the previous year, there were around 11,100 cobot units. From 2017 to 2018, annual installations of cobots increased by 23%.
