Industrial robotsIFR forecasts growth pause at record level
The 'World Robotics Report 2019' published by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reports a global record sales value of 16.5 billion US dollars for industrial robotics in 2018. After a pause in growth this year, double-digit growth is set to resume.

Asia is the world's largest industrial robot market. In 2018, the three largest Asian markets presented a varied picture: investment in China and the Republic of Korea declined, while investment in Japan increased significantly. Overall, Asia grew by one percent. Robot installations in Europe, the second largest market, rose by 14% and reached a new high for the sixth time in a row. In the Americas, the growth rate reached a plus of 20% compared to the previous year, also a new high for the sixth time in a row.
