© SiemensBuntPlanet offers software applications for companies in the water industry worldwide. Its portfolio includes solutions for smart metering, water quality and asset management software, solutions for the integration of hydraulic models and artificial intelligence for the detection of leaks in water networks and other anomalies. Siemens has had a license agreement with BuntPlanet for the distribution of their leak detection software - known as SIWA LeakPlus - since 2019. With this acquisition, BuntPlanet's entire offering and team will be integrated into Siemens' portfolio for water utilities, making it even more comprehensive for water customers.
Integration in Xcelerator
BuntPlanet's core offering, BuntBrain, is a software platform with solutions for leak detection, end-user water analysis, water loss reduction, asset management, digital twin and water meter management. The application incorporates the latest advances in artificial intelligence, big data and hydraulic simulations to locate leaks and other anomalies in advance, minimize the risk of damage to infrastructure and reduce operating and maintenance costs. By integrating with the Siemens Measurement Intelligence hardware portfolio, the combination of measurement technology and software has been proven to detect leaks as small as 0.25 liters per second. For example, Siemens customer VA Syd, a Swedish water company, has developed an intelligent leak detection system based on the AI-supported SIWA LeakPlus application from Siemens.
Since December 1, 2023, BuntPlanet has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Spain. The company is organizationally assigned to Siemens Digital Industries and is part of the Process Automation Business Unit. Once the integration is complete, Siemens will also make BuntPlanet's offering available on its open business platform Siemens Xcelerator.
