Piterion's PLM and MOM capabilities help customers accelerate the transition from on-premises infrastructures to cloud-native environments, while Capgemini's AI-powered analytics and generative AI models enable agility. According to the companies, these strengths together will enable clients to achieve faster time-to-market, greater cost efficiencies in engineering and manufacturing, and greater overall operational responsiveness. The acquisition is expected to close in the coming months and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and conditions.

Piterion was founded in 2004, is headquartered in Stuttgart and operates with subsidiaries in Italy, Tunisia and India. Piterion's team of more than 200 integrates mechanical, electronic and software-related engineering and primarily serves large companies in the automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace and defense, life sciences and high-tech sectors, in which Capgemini is also active.

Piterion focuses on the design and management of complex engineering application environments to improve manufacturing processes and achieve greater efficiency, traceability and reliability. The company specializes in industrial digitalization, especially PLM, and the networking of systems for manufacturing execution, manufacturing management and enterprise resource planning. The team uses an advanced cloud infrastructure to turn innovative concepts into reality and embeds artificial intelligence into in-house developed accelerators such as a data migration platform, 3D visualization and a deployment framework.
