From IoT to artificial intelligence and blockchain: new digital technologies are of great importance for the competitiveness of the German economy. In a study, Bitkom has broken down what companies are focusing on and where they see the biggest obstacles.

The Internet of Things and big data play a major role for three out of four companies, while two out of three attach great importance to robotics. This is followed by virtual & augmented reality and 3D printing. Every second company sees blockchain and artificial intelligence as being of great importance for the competitiveness of the German economy.
