Expansion of the Switch 2000 product family from Pheonix Contact
© Phoenix Contact

Phoenix Contact is expanding the portfolio of the Switch 2000 product family to include three variants with NAT function. NAT switches combine the functions of a managed switch and a NAT router in one device and are therefore suitable for the simple integration of systems with the same IP address ranges in superimposed networks. Various NAT mechanisms are available for the translation of IP addresses in the new device family: 1:1 NAT, virtual NAT, IP masquerading and port forwarding. The eight ports of the switch can be flexibly divided, for example as a classic NAT switch with one WAN and seven LAN ports, or with several WAN ports to connect a machine to several superimposed networks, for example to a production and diagnostic network. The switches support various redundancy mechanisms on the LAN and WAN side. Depending on the application, there are variants with optimized functions for series machine construction or with an extended range of switch functions as well as industry-specific approvals and gigabit communication. The NAT switches replace the previous FL NAT SMN device family.
