On February 3, 2023, the Plagiarius campaign awarded the dreaded 'Plagiarius' negative prize to manufacturers and retailers of particularly brazen counterfeits and fakes for the 47th time.
This year's first prize goes to the company Deutscher Möbel-Filialist, which operates throughout the EU. A modular wall shelving system was imitated, the original of which comes from Studio Hausen / Jörg Höltje from Hamburg. The design, concept and proportions are clumsily copied 1:1 - however, the differences in quality are large and cannot be glossed over, according to the Plagiarius campaign. The high-quality original is made from FSC-certified solid wood from sustainable forestry. The counterfeit is made from low-quality tropical mango wood and the cheap hangers are warped. - The furniture chain store showed its understanding, stopped the sale, destroyed remaining stock and quoted sales figures.
