Dr. Thomas Bürger new Division Head

On January 1, 2020, Dr. Thomas Bürger took over the management of the Automation Products & Solutions (APS) division of the electrical engineering company Weidmüller and the management of Weidmüller GTI Software GmbH in Marktheidenfeld.

In both functions, Dr. Bürger will report to the Weidmüller Group's Chief Technology Officer. The 49-year-old graduate engineer comes from Bosch Rexroth AG, where he has held various management positions over the past 15 years, most recently as Vice President Engineering Automation Systems and Digital Platform.

In his new role at Weidmüller, Bürger will be responsible for driving forward the expansion of the IIoT portfolio and the area of digital platforms, where he will contribute his expertise. "The Industrial Internet of Things will significantly change industrial production in the coming years and we are positioning ourselves early with solutions in this environment. We will develop into a major player in the market here," explains Bürger.

Bürger succeeds Michael Matthesius, who has left the company.
