The optimal user experience begins at system startup
With Prime OS, Schubert System Elektronik develops specialized operating systems with and without containerization for various target applications.
An optimal user experience begins at system startup. Traditionally, short start-up times are considered in this context. However, these are not enough to achieve a good overall impression on users at system startup through suitable system configuration.
The relevant factors include customer-specific branding in the startup, the concealment of many operating system features through custom shells (often also known as kiosk mode) and, fundamentally, an operating system configured specifically to the requirements. Until now, it has often been necessary to rely on fixed software or technologies that were only developed for certain operating systems. Currently, the number of programming languages that work across platforms is continuously increasing.
Abstraction through containerization and virtualization makes application development even easier, as cross-platform functionality is no longer an obstacle. This means that in future, the choice of operating system will become increasingly independent of the third-party software used and decision-makers will be able to focus more on factors such as security, performance and costs. The disadvantages of higher computing requirements will therefore be quickly offset.
Schubert System Elektronik GmbH (SSE) develops specialized operating systems under the name Prime OS and advises its customers intensively on configuration.

Hardware follows software
High-quality panel and box PCs, stable systems for sending video and USB data, expandable IIoT and edge computing concepts and other services can be combined into individual systems with 'Prime Cube' from Schubert.

We can offer configuration support on request."

Other derivatives of Prime OS focus on integrating applications with a graphical user interface (GUI) or establishing a remote connection to the target system.
The Prime Tool Set is another software component that contributes to an optimal user experience. For example, service reports can be transmitted directly from the end customer to SSE, which makes response times particularly short in the event of a problem.
Computer technology made in Germany
Schubert System Elektronik stands for more than 50 years of development experience in the field of industrial computer systems, from sensors to the cloud, from hardware and software to assemblies and standard products to complete systems. The company develops and produces with around 170 employees in Neuhausen ob Eck and in Deggendorf, Bavaria. As part of the Gerhard Schubert Group, SSE is a globally active family business.
Meet the experts from SSE at embedded world 2023 in Nuremberg, Hall 3 - Stand 3-249. In addition to expandable box and panel PCs, the highlights include electronic components and customer-specific developments such as displays for medical technology, HMI boards, boards for camera modules and control elements.
