Rockwell Automation
Purchase of the Italian Asem
Rockwell Automation has now announced the acquisition of the Italian automation supplier Asem.
Asem offers a range of industrial PCs, HMI hardware and software, remote control functions and secure industrial IoT gateway solutions. Founded in 1979 by the current Managing Director Renzo Guerra, Asem has been the largest Italian manufacturer of industrial PCs since 2000.
"ASEM's strength in the IPC market and expertise in HMI will expand our hardware and software portfolio for control and visualization," says Fran Wlodarczyk, Senior Vice President, Architecture & Software at Rockwell Automation.
The transaction includes the purchase of a minority stake of ASEM in KEB Group, Germany. Upon closing, Rockwell Automation will maintain ASEM's strategic vendor and technology partner relationship with KEB.
The transaction is expected to close in spring 2020, subject to customary approvals and conditions. It will be reported in Rockwell Automation's Architecture & Software business unit.
