Softing expands the 'edgePlug' family with edgePlug Fanuc CNC.
The development of an industrial IoT application is a major challenge due to its overall complexity - SSV therefore believes that solid planning and a DevOps process chain with a development process that covers the entire life cycle of the application are important. To help with the complex requirements, the company offers an adaptive building block concept for industrial IoT applications. The central functional module is a hardware-agnostic firmware for edge gateways with a customizable range of functions that can be used on various embedded platforms as well as in Docker containers. The modules of the 'SFS' modular system (Smart Factory Sensor) are available for sensor technology in combination with the 'SSB' protocol (Secure Sensor Beacon). AI functions are integrated into the firmware via 'TensorFlow' and 'TinyML'. In terms of cybersecurity, various security levels are possible, which are based on the IEC 62443-4-1 directive. The modules are passed on as part of a license agreement.
