Embedded ComputingNew products at embedded world 2019
At the end of February, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made way for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the embedded world 2019 stands.

With the SBF crossover, EKF presents a module for CompactPCI serial systems. Among other things, the PCB contains four USB 3.0 controllers and two Gigabit Ethernet NICs, all wired to front connectors. A PCI Express mini card socket can be fitted with a fieldbus I/O module, for example for CAN-FD. According to the supplier, a quad-port UART is useful for communication via RS-232 or RS-485. The module can be operated in any PCI Express peripheral slot of a CompactPCI serial backplane. All I/O modules are connected via a PCIe switch. As the front sockets for USB and Ethernet are each wired to their own controllers, the full data throughput is available on each individual interface. The SBF crossover is intended to be suitable for edge computing, among other things.
