Multiple communication channels possible

Helmholz has developed a new Devicenet bus coupler for the 'TB20' I/O system. As a Group 2 server, it supports the 'Predefined Master/Slave Connection Set', while the slave software enables multiple communication channels to be set up dynamically using UCMM.

Users can choose between different combination options for their I/O data. The coupler supports all three Devicenet communication methods with polled, bit-strobe and change-of-state connections. Offline connection set, device heartbeat and device shutdown messages as well as the common baud rates of 125, 250 and 500 kbit/s are supported. The baud rate and MAC ID can be changed on the hardware side via DIP switches or via software. The coupler status can be read out via explicit messaging.
