The new power class of type 1 and type 2 inlets is designed for permanent and uncooled HPC charging, which significantly shortens the charging times of electric vehicles and mobile machines. Cable cross-sections of up to 120 mm², optimized connection technology between the DC contacts and the high-voltage cables as well as high-precision temperature measurement enable permanent and safe charging with 375 kW. Depending on conditions such as the ambient temperature, the routing of the cables in the vehicle or the application-specific charging profile, significantly higher charging outputs of more than 500 kW can even be achieved for short periods in boost mode. The HPC-capable CCS charging sockets from Phoenix Contact are designed with protection classes IP6K6K and IP6K9K in the front area, even when the charging flap is open. This means that the front area is protected against strong water jets under increased pressure, protected against water during high-pressure or steam jet cleaning and protected against the ingress of dust. The relevant external dimensions and screw-on geometries of the vehicle inlets are identical in each case. This means that manufacturers can always plan the same installation space for every electric vehicle, regardless of the target market - from ships to motorcycles. The CCS inlets were developed in accordance with IATF 16949 to meet the high requirements of the automotive industry. This robust and proven technology is now available for all types of electric vehicles with Charx connect universal.
