In 1960, Siemens introduces a numerical control (NC) system based on relay technology under the name "Siemens NC". It is capable of point and line control and supports analog absolute encoders. In 1961, Pittler installs the "Siemens NC" in its Piromatic 23N turret lathe (pictured).
