Automation manufacturers are increasingly focusing on the topic of electromobility. In January, for example, ABB announced a USD 10 million investment in the US company Ecotality. The San Francisco-based company develops charging technologies for electric cars, among other things. Another deal followed in April: the purchase of Dutch company Epyon. Its focus is on charging infrastructure for electric cars via DC fast charging stations and software for chargers.
