Yaskawa aims to further advance service robotics with the new version of the SDA dual-arm robot family with a payload capacity of 5 kg, which now also makes smaller applications feasible. The Japanese manufacturer sees potential fields of application for the dual-arm technology, for example in the assembly of complex differential gears in the automotive industry, in the automated quality control of production parts, but also in the fully automated handling and analysis of blood samples in medical laboratories. The SDA is now available in three payload ranges: 5, 10 and 20 kg per arm.
