Belden has added a new product to the Lumberg Automation fieldbus system - the Lion-Link EtherNet/IP bus coupler. According to the manufacturer, the solution, which is designed as a single input/output module, supports various field wiring systems, numerous configuration options and connections over long distances. The LioN-Link system offers connection options between the entire fieldbus system and the fieldbus-independent I/O modules. The software integrated in each bus coupler enables communication with the web server as well as access to real-time data and diagnostic information from the entire production process. Up to 30 I/O modules can be connected to each bus coupler, distributed over two lines, with a maximum of 15 devices supported per line. The cables can be up to 100 m long, which is twice the length of all products currently available on the market.
