Mobile device for analyzing all common Real-Time Ethernet networks from Kunbus
© Kunbus

With TAP Curious, Kunbus is launching a mobile device for analyzing all common real-time Ethernet networks. The main tasks of the device include recording and analyzing delay, jitter and CRC errors in the network. Filter functions and digital inputs and outputs make the device easier to use. It can monitor up to two independent Ethernet channels in parallel in full-duplex mode. Thanks to the completely passive monitoring mode, there is no throughput delay (zero delay) and data communication in the network is not affected. The device generates a time stamp of 1 ns for precise timing analysis. Filter functions, which can be set using a browser-based configuration tool, can be used to search for specific values and significantly reduce the amount of data to be analyzed. With the digital input and output, it is possible to trigger special network states - for example, to narrow down, find and rectify sporadically occurring errors. In addition to the digital output, five freely configurable LEDs are available, for example to visually indicate the occurrence of a faulty transmission directly on the device.
