IT penetration in production: In Germany, 15% of all medium-sized manufacturing companies have arrived in the Industry 4.0 era with decentrally networked, self-controlling production processes. Almost 60% of all medium-sized manufacturing companies surveyed already use IT-based automation solutions. According to the survey, more than two thirds (69%) use IT solutions for remote maintenance of their systems and machines in production. A good half (52%) also have an intelligent plant park.
