Anybus BACnet Modbus Gateway from HMS
© HMS Industrial Networks
The "Anybus" BACnet/Modbus gateway from HMS integrates Modbus devices into a BACnet network; it handles the conversion between Modbus (RTU, ASCII and TCP) and BACnet/IP. The gateway works as an "interpreter" between the two networks. Devices that support Modbus (RTU, ASCII or TCP) appear in the BACnet/IP network as individual BACnet-compliant devices. This enables the central monitoring and control of Modbus devices - such as drives, HVAC controls and measuring devices - in buildings via BACnet. The gateway is connected to serial Modbus (RTU and ASCII) or Ethernet (BACnet/IP and Modbus-TCP) via two connections. Once connected, users can select the appropriate profile from a free library of common Modbus device profiles and set up communication between the two networks. Commissioning and troubleshooting are carried out via the gateway's integrated web interface.
