Subsea production is a realistic vision: today's production stations on the seabed are around 12 x 16 m in size. The concept studies for subsea refineries at a depth of 3000 m are the size of a soccer pitch. The various components for the exploration and liquefaction of the gas are mounted directly on the seabed on the base carrier. The gas will then be pumped to the surface on the high seas and loaded directly into tankers.
