In 2000, Siemens develops simulators that can be used to analyze machining processes and supplements them with a virtual CNC control that can be integrated into commercial simulation systems. 2000 also sees the launch of the "Sinumerik 802 D sl" (pictured) for the lower performance range. The operating panel control combines all components of a standard CNC control (NC, PLC, HMI) in one unit.
