The Weller Elektronik team has developed a process for manufacturing highly efficient and compact electric motors. The stator winding is wound directly onto the rotor and is then formatted by the rotor. In principle, this results in very compact motors with a copper saving of 25 % and an increase in efficiency of 5 % compared to previous windings. The process is suitable for permanently excited and separately excited motors and can therefore be used for all common electric motor concepts in the field of electromobility.
