Software Defined Networks (SDN):
In data centers, the acceptance of SDN - a concept for network construction in which control is decoupled from the hardware and handed over to a software application - is increasing. This increases the risk of targeted attacks on central control instances compromising and taking over the network. SDN could strengthen security by routing data traffic through a gateway and IPS components, according to Check Point. According to Check Point, such security considerations must already be taken into account when designing SDN.
