The GPRS fault indicators in the Imo series from Insys icom are used for the intelligent monitoring of control systems and process data in the fields of building and industrial automation, measurement technology, energy management and electromobility. The M2M provider is now expanding the product family with the Imo-2 device and introducing extended functions for the Imo-1 model. Imo-2 integrates Modbus devices via LAN and the RS485 and RS232 serial interfaces. In addition, the monitoring function of the fault indicators has been revised and numerous functions have been added: all versions of the 'Siemens Logo!' including 0BA7, devices with Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU as well as extended internal timers are monitored. Thanks to network capability and two serial interfaces each, several devices can be monitored simultaneously. Status values of connected devices can trigger actions by means of flexible, logical linking of freely selectable elements. For example, user-definable SMS or e-mails with current status values and the switching of outputs are possible. Both devices have a web-based configuration interface that can also be accessed remotely and with VPN security.
