The electric linear actuators of the water-protected 'RoboCylinder' special series 'RCW ' from IAI have specific properties that make them particularly interesting for food technology and generally for workpiece processing and packaging systems. New are dust and wet room variants of the RCP4W series in protection class IP65 and IP67. The RoboCylinders offer a constant stroke speed and mechanical self-locking. They are particularly suitable for machines where a rest position must be maintained - also with the aid of their adjustable pressure and holding force. The splash-proof 24 V (DC) linear actuator series RCP4W is designed to replace pneumatic cylinders. According to the manufacturer, the axes, which are available as slide and push rod types, are characterized by a specially designed frame cover, floor seal, mounting bracket and slide/rod guide and are protected against water from washing or immersion systems. With an axis stroke of 100 to 700 mm of the linear units, speeds of up to 530 mm/s can be achieved. The positioning accuracy is ±0.02 mm for an approved maximum load of 20 kg (depending on the model). The stepper motor allows up to 768 programmable positions with the 'PCON-CA' high-performance controller via field network interfaces such as Profibus, Devicenet, CC-Link, Profinet, Ethercat or Ethernet/IP.
