Nord Drivesystems has decentralized drives in its range that can also be used to easily implement applications such as synchronization and flying saws. An integrated PLC and the 'Posicon' positioning controller in the 'Nordac Link' and 'Nordac Flex' frequency inverters enable the synchronization of several drives in master-slave mode. The flying saw function can be used to connect and guide a processing unit in parallel to a moving workpiece. While the material transport continues on the master axis, the slave axis synchronizes itself and carries out its processing step as soon as synchronization is achieved. It then moves back to the starting position to start the process all over again. This makes it possible to machine a workpiece during transportation. Up to three slave inverters can be controlled by one master inverter as standard, without the need for a higher-level controller. In addition, the inverters are freely configurable and can be easily installed and maintained thanks to their complete pluggability.
