Siemens is now expanding the vertical networking of machine tools with the 'Sinumerik Integrate for Production' product suite. The Sinumerik Integrate software runs directly on the machine tool control system. The machine clients are connected to a central server, which provides various applications. As the machines only need to be connected to the server once and can then be flexibly expanded with new functions, the user benefits from simple commissioning. What's more, as the clients can also run without being networked, many Sinumerik Integrate functions can already be used on a non-networked individual machine. If several machine tools are used and comprehensive optimizations are sought, additional functions can be opened up with networking. In addition, users who already use systems for managing engineering data (PLM system) or production control systems (MES/ERP) can also connect these levels.
