Cyberattacks on key industrial processes and utilities will also increase in the coming year. With the help of malware, SCADA systems in particular are being targeted. Regardless of whether these exploits are circulated by nation states or criminal groups, they are already widespread according to Check Point: Nearly 70% of critical infrastructure companies examined by the Ponemon Institute in the Check Point report registered a security incident this year.
