The Raspberry Pi Foundation team was allowed to test their camera module in this Broadcom test lab. The fashion mannequin is called 'Veronica', but is said to have been "lousy company". The lab contains calibrated and permanently installed motifs - objects that experience shows are frequently photographed. The image quality was optimized on the basis of these motifs. Incidentally, the photo itself was taken with a Nokia N8, which contains a previous version of the Imaging Core, which is also used in the Raspberry Pi.
