The mechanical engineering industry aims to create ten thousand new jobs by 2018. In January 2015, 1,003,000 people were employed in the mechanical engineering sector - an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous year. "We want to maintain the high level of employment and even increase it. I admit: that is ambitious! But by focusing on the opportunities of Industry 4.0, we can achieve this," announced the VDMA President.
