The machine tool manufacturer Heller has also already taken its first steps towards mechatronic engineering, but believes that it has by no means reached the end of the road. Klaus Riexinger, Senior Manager Controls Engineering, comments: "We have started to standardize electrical, hardware and control cabinet construction via the Eplan platform and are now moving on to software. We are not yet able to estimate which tools we will be able to use to cover the entire engineering process."
