Stama Maschinenfabrik calls its innovation 'Performance Efficiency Per Square Meter' (Peps for short). In other words, when developing its new machining centers, all peripheral units were taken into account from the outset for the first time. In the past, a basic machine including the main options was created. Customer-specific solutions were then adapted, whereby the mechanical interfaces and a defined position in the machine were not predetermined. This meant that the peripheral units were placed around the machine in a satellite shape - an approach that only partially met the requirement for high overall efficiency in terms of space, energy and production. Thanks to the development according to 'Peps', the space requirement of the machines has now been reduced by 30 to 40 %, depending on the equipment.
