When awarding the most innovative companies, the Top 100 jury recognized that E-T-A Elektrotechnische Apparate from Altdorf is different: the company has established a concept competition within product development. Several concepts are entered for a new product. In preparation for this competition, the developers work out their concepts according to previously defined evaluation criteria and present them to the management team. Several concepts are then selected and realized up to the prototype stage. "This keeps the solution space open for as long as possible and prevents a premature commitment to a possibly less efficient concept," reports Managing Director Dr. Clifford Sell (right). Ultimately, this significantly shortens the development time for products.
