Portwell introduces the 'Type 7 COM Express Carrier Board' PCOM-C700 as an extension of the COM Express portfolio. The PICMG COM Express 3.0 compliant board integrates the Type 7 pin assignment into a new generation of carrier boards in ATX format on an area of 304.8 mm x 243.8 mm. The board features 4 x 10GbE, an NC-SI interface, up to 32 PCIe lanes, console redirection, baseboard management controller, SATA interfaces and a TPM socket. The company offers technical documentation for its COM Express modules, carrier boards, starter kits, design guides and schematics. According to the manufacturer, the use of server-compliant platforms enables upgrades to improve performance and energy efficiency by simply replacing standard modules. This eliminates the need to purchase complete new server motherboards. Module-based solutions, such as the PCOM-B700, are particularly suitable for cloud computing and edge servers as well as for all types of data center servers.
