In 2012, there were 273 robots per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing sector in Germany. The so-called "robot density" - a good measure of the degree of automation - was therefore more than twice as high as in France and more than four times higher than in the UK. Only Japan and Korea had a higher robot density.
